Washington State Ferry :: Accessing Lynnwood from the West

A ferry ride is a relaxing and scenic way to visit the Puget Sound’s many island communities.  Walk on the ferry and plan to stroll though the quaint waterfront towns or bring your bicycle for a scenic ride through the countryside.  Of course you can always drive aboard and tour the island communities further inland.  However you choose, the Washington State Ferry System puts you in touch with all the scenic beauty the Puget Sound offers.

Washington State Ferries is the largest ferry system in the United States, serving eight counties within Washington and the Province of British Columbia in Canada. Ferries provide service to Canada, the San Juan Islands, Vashon and the Kitsap Peninsula.  The system has 10 routes and 20 terminals that are served by 28 vessels.  Edmonds and Mukilteo both have ferry docks within a few minutes of Lynnwood.  The Seattle ferry terminal is located on Pier 52 on the Seattle waterfront..

From Edmonds you can take a 30 minute ride across the Puget Sound to Kingston, a delightful waterfront community.  Walk on fares are $6.50 per adult, a vehicle and driver is $11.55 during the winter, $14.45 during the peak season.  Ferries are very popular in the summertime, so be prepared to get to the terminal early.  You may also make reservations up to one month or 2 hours ahead of sailing time.  For a current list of fees and schedules or to reserve a spot, contact the Washington State Ferries System.
