Lynnwood Parks
Nothing beats a lazy summer afternoon in the park with a picnic lunch, a game of croquet and a nap in the shade. Welcome to Lynnwood Parks. The City of Lynnwood has 17 public parks sprinkled throughout the city. Playgrounds, spray pools and a skate park are among the amenities you will find in the Lynnwood Park system.
At 40.7 acres, Lyndale Park, is the City’s largest park. Activities including tennis, basketball, skating, ball fields and hiking trails. You can reserve a shelter and BBQ at Lyndale. The Amphitheater has seasonal performances. Check with the Parks Department to see what is happening while you are in town.
Scriber Lake Park, a 22 acre park is composed primarily of wetlands and natural areas. Central to the park, Scriber Lake provides important wildlife habitat for small mammals, song birds and waterfowl. There is a trail marked with interpretative signs though the park, and a floating dock with observation nodes and benches. Bring a picnic, picnic facilities and restrooms are on site.
The most unique park in Lynnwood is Heritage Park. Heritage Park is a collection of historic buildings telling the story of early Lynnwood, known as Alderwood Manor. The Wickers Building houses the Visitor Information Center and Transportation Museum. Here you will find an historical display of the Interurban, the railway connecting Seattle and Everett in the early 1900s. Artifacts that honor the building’s past life as a general store and post office are on display.
Heritage park is also home to Interurban Car 55, a fully restored Interurban trolley. The interior includes a pictorial story of the trolleys restoration and authentic Interurban accessories.
In addition to Neighborhood and community Parks, Lynnwood maintains 7 miles of trails and 110 acres of open space.
