Fall Scenic Drives from Lynnwood

Explore the Pacific Northwest with a Washington scenic drive this fall!

Lynnwood is located just 16 miles north of Seattle, in beautiful Snohomish County.  And with its convenient location, Lynnwood offers easy access to explore the Pacific Northwest.

Fall is a perfect time to discover more of the coast. Take a scenic ferry ride west to Kingston and explore the Olympic Peninsula, head northeast to explore the famous Cascade Loop, or head north to Chuckanut Drive.  From mountains and rivers to beautiful views of the Puget Sound, you can easily explore the natural beauty in the Pacific Northwest from Lynnwood while enjoying some of Washington’s best fall drives.

North Olympic Peninsula

Distance: 73 miles one-way

Catch an early morning ferry from the Edmonds ferry dock into Kingston. Be sure to pack your camera and binoculars as this route is full of history with maritime heritage, military landmarks and wildlife viewing. Lots of side stops with Fort Flagler State Park, Port Townsend and Point No Point lighthouse. Certainly a history buffs favorite, this route allows a stroll through Port Gamble, a perfectly preserved National Historic District. Learn More >>

Cascade Loop

Distance: 440 miles, 4-5 days

This incredible driving tour takes you through several cities and towns with numerous attractions and activities along the way. With such a diverse landscape of lush forests, urban centers, jagged mountain peaks and more, you’ll find yourself in some of Washington’s less traveled and most beautiful areas. Plan on scheduling this trip between June and October to avoid winter road closures. Learn More >>

Chuckanut Drive

Distance: 21 miles

Drive along the Puget Sound’s rocky coastline as you view the local flora color change. At it’s southern most location, just outside of Burlington, you’ll find the need to stretch a little and do some exploring. Bay View State Park and the 11,000-acre Padilla Bay National Estuarine Sanctuary offer foot trail systems for a little adventure outside the car. Several roadside view points over the San Juan Islands where you can take a turn at clamming or saltwater shore fishing. End your trip in Fairhaven, a hip little red-brick-lined town offering up cute little cafes, parks and shops. Learn More >>
