Ready for summer vacation? Bingo!

Summer break has officially arrived, and that “School’s out for the summer!” feeling is nearly overwhelming. The best way to get into the swing of summer is to take (or at least plan) a summer vacation.

Exploring a new destination without any kind of guide may sound like an ideal getaway, but for many, having at least a bit of an itinerary to follow can be helpful. That’s why we’ve put together our Lynnwood Bingo program! Every season, we switch up our Bingo card to showcase a new set of seasonally appropriate, can’t-miss activities and events that are more than worth a trip.

How to play:

Request your Bingo Card for Summer by opting in for our emails. Then, post about your Bingo experience on social media and use #lynnwoodsummerbingo to be entered in our Lynnwood Bingo Getaway Giveaway! Every post earns you an entry for one night stay in Lynnwood and a gift certificate to use towards an unforgettable meal or experience.

Now that you’ve got your Bingo card, use the next few blog posts as a guide to score BINGO in different ways!

Outdoor Explorer Bingo!

Start your first day of summer vacation by exploring Lynnwood Heritage Park. Picnic tables and benches are scattered throughout the park for relaxation or an impromptu picnic. Ample shade is provided by old trees that house birds and wildlife. Heritage Park also showcases several early historical structures; the 1930s’ Superintendent’s Cottage and Water Tower, the Humble House, the Wickers Building, and the Interurban Trolley Car #55 are all displayed in a village-like setting.

Next, cool down from the Pacific Northwest summer sunshine by taking a dip in a Lynnwood area pool. The Hampton Inn & Suites and Embassy Suites both boast indoor pools, while the Best Western and Residence Inn provide outdoor pools for their guests.

Another option for taking a dip is the Lynnwood Rec Center indoor water park, where 20,000 square feet of water fun await. The Beach Swim is perfect for families with small children, while the Recreation Swim area offers 2 giant waterslides and a river with current to challenge swimmers of all ages. The Lynnwood Rec Center pool is open daily during the summer (with the exception of Labor Day), and you can view the schedule for more details here.

You don’t even have to submerge… Lynnwood also has splash pads at Daleway Park and North Lynnwood Park.

Whichever way you prefer, Lynnwood has a soak, splash, or a dip just for you!

Before you can shout BINGO, you have to take a hike! There are many enjoyable excursions both in and around Lynnwood that fit the bill. Meadowdale Beach Park in nearby Edmonds is a 2.3 mile out and back, moderately challenging hike that takes about an hour and a half to complete. The Scriber Lake Nature Trail is a shorter loop, clocking at just about 12 minutes to complete. But you’ll take longer if you want to squeeze in a little birding on your hike! Lynndale Park Nature Trail is an easy 20 minute hike just shy of a mile, a great way to get in your steps and stay (mostly) in the shade.

If you’re up for more of a challenge, Snohomish county offers many mountain hikes in the heart of the Cascade Mountains. Wallace Falls, Heather Lake, Lake 22, and the Big Four Ice Caves each promise a unique trek and breathtaking views, and you’ll most certainly earn a delicious indulgence when you get back into town.

Looking for more excursions in the great outdoors? Check out our guide here.

BINGO! You just scored top left through bottom right! The best way to celebrate? Start all over again tomorrow with our next Bingo challenge!
